How can I enter my child for the Buxton Spa Children’s Prize?
From Sunday 1st April parents / teachers and other guardians can enter young artists via a downloadable paper-based entry form. Entry forms will also be available at The Green Man Gallery.
The Buxton Spa Teens & Children’s Prize is open for entries until Sunday 23rd June 2019.
What is the subject for a Teen or Children’s entry?
The theme of the Children's entries is ‘What I love about Buxton’.
We ask that Teens entering the competition to follow a similar format to the main prize.

How do I register?
Registration will take place at No. 6 Tea Rooms in Buxton (SK17 6AZ) between Saturday 4th May and Sunday 12th May 2019. Please remember to bring your blank mediums, including canvases and boards, as these will need to be stamped.
Does it involve working outdoors?
Yes, but the artwork does not need to completed in situ.
Can I choose my location?
Artists wishing to choose their own location can do so by submitting a second entry to The Buxton Spa Prize. The first submission is drawn by ballot and not chosen by the artist.
What medium can I choose?
Any 2D medium is accepted apart from photography.
Entries can include textiles and printmaking.
Can I take my work away to finish off?
Yes you can.
When does work need to be submitted?
You will need your work finished, mounted and submitted to The Green Man Gallery by Saturday 22nd June 2019. Click here for The Green Man Gallery Opening Hours. (Opening hours at the bottom of the gallery home page).
Is there a minimum or maximum size?
Yes - submissions, including the frame, must not be smaller than 10 x 10 inches (25cm x 25cm) or larger than 40 x 40 inches (100cm x 100cm).
Will my work be exhibited?
We hope so, although we cannot guarantee this because of space restrictions. This is stated in the T&Cs
Is there a commission on sold works?
Yes, there is a 40% commission on all works sold. The commission goes towards the running costs of the competition and exhibition. This is stated in the T&Cs.
When / Where does the exhibition take place?
The exhibition will take place at The Green Man Gallery in Buxton from Friday 28th June to Wednesday 31st July 2019 and artists are invited to a preview on Thursday 27th June 2019.

When can I collect my unsold artwork?
Your work will be available for collection from The Green Man Gallery from Saturday 3rd to Sunday 18th August 2019. During August The Green Man Gallery is open every day, apart from Thursday, 10:30am to 4:30pm. If there is any reason you are unable to collect within this time period please let us know.
